  • Are there any fees for adoption?+
We don't have a fixed adoption fee — it really depends on you. Any amount you're willing to give is appreciated, as it helps support the pet's basic care and the needs of the shelter.
  • Can I adopt more than one pet?+
You can only have one active adoption application at a time. You must complete the entire adoption process, including any required welfare checks, before you can apply for another pet. If your account has been flagged for any issues, you may need to wait before becoming eligible to adopt again.
  • Why might my adoption application be restricted?+
Your account may be temporarily ineligible for adoption if: you have a previous adoption with an incomplete welfare check, you recently completed an adoption (we require a waiting period), your account has been flagged for violations, or you have outstanding issues with previous adoptions. Check your dashboard for specific eligibility status and dates.
  • Can I cancel my adoption application?+
Yes, you can cancel your adoption application from your dashboard. Once cancelled, the pet will become available for other adopters, and you'll be able to apply for other pets. You'll receive a confirmation email when the cancellation is processed.
  • Scheduling Pickup & Next Steps
  • What happens after my application is approved?+
After approval, you'll have access to your "Next Steps" page where you can: 1) Review and digitally sign the adoption agreement, 2) Schedule a pickup time (morning or afternoon slots), and 3) Confirm your adoption plan. You must complete all steps within the given timeframe to avoid expiration.
  • How do I schedule a pickup?+
Once approved, visit your Next Steps page and click "Schedule Pickup." You can choose available dates and select either morning (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) or afternoon (1:00 PM - 5:00 PM) time slots. The system will show available dates up to 7 days in advance.
  • Application Approval & Follow-Up
  • How will I know if my application is approved?+
You'll receive an email notification and see updates in your dashboard. Check the "My Applications" section to track your application status. Approved applications will show your next steps and allow you to proceed with the adoption process.
  • What is a welfare check?+
A welfare check is a required update, usually 6 months after adoption. Upload photos/videos and vet records to show your pet is healthy and well-cared for.
  • What if my application is denied?+
You’ll receive feedback and may reapply or choose another pet.
  • Pet Returns & Concerns
  • What if I can no longer care for my adopted pet?+
If you can no longer care for your adopted pet, you can request a return through your dashboard. Provide details about your situation and the reason for return. Our team will review your request and arrange the return process. We understand that circumstances can change unexpectedly.
  • What is the pet return process?+
Submit a return request through your dashboard explaining your situation. Our admin team will review your request and may schedule a return date. You'll receive email updates about the status of your return request. Once approved, you can schedule when to bring the pet back to the shelter.
  • What are valid reasons for pet return?+
Common reasons include: unexpected life changes (job loss, relocation, family emergency), allergies that developed over time, inability to provide proper care due to health issues, behavioral problems that can't be resolved, or financial hardship. We ask that you be honest about your situation so we can best help both you and the pet.
  • Will returning a pet affect my future adoptions?+
Returning a pet due to legitimate circumstances won't permanently prevent future adoptions, but we may require a waiting period and additional screening. We understand that sometimes returns are necessary for the wellbeing of both the pet and adopter. However, multiple returns or returns for preventable reasons may affect your adoption eligibility.
